Islamic Studies Program
Beverly Hills Academy's Islamic Studies program offers a comprehensive and meaningful understanding of Islam. With an emphasis on academic rigor and spiritual development, the program aims to cultivate a love for God and His messengers, as well as a desire to embody the noble characteristics found in the Qur'an and Sunnah.
The curriculum is divided into two parts: Qur'anic Studies and Islamic Foundations. In Qur'anic Studies, students engage in a unique, holistic approach to memorizing the Qur'an. They learn how to recite it with proper intonation (tajweed), study its Arabic language to understand its meaning in English, and explore its application to their lives. This method allows students to memorize the Qur'an in a way that positively shapes their character and mindset.
In Middle School, the Islamic Foundations curriculum provides students with an in-depth understanding of essential aspects of Islamic Studies. This includes topics such as Belief (Aqeedah), the Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Seerah), Jurisprudence (Figh), Prophetic Traditions (Hadith), Noble Character (Adab), and Prophetic Spirituality (Ihsan). The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to equip students with knowledge and guidance to navigate various aspects of Islamic teachings.
Through the Islamic Studies program, Beverly Hills Academy strives to foster an emotional, intellectual, and spiritual connection with Islam, nurturing students to lead upright lives based on the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah.
